Breadcrumb: Same Plate, Different Week

I was stopped behind a car yesterday with a license plate that nearly matched mine.

It reminded me of the piece I wrote about it a while ago and made me look twice.

His: 6GD5940
Mine: 6GD3591

Same 6 to start.
Same “GD” in the center.
Same total of 24.

But when I passed him and looked over, it brought up something else.

He is not Jewish, and his plate ends with a 0, a loop, a week that runs in circles.

Seven days that feel the same.

Mine ends with a 1, a hard stop.
The break in the pattern.
Shabbos.

It’s the day that doesn’t blend into the rest,
the day that interrupts the cycle,
the day that says to pause here.

Seeing our two plates back-to-back was a clear reminder that we can drive the same city roads and still live different weeks.

One week loops.
One week stops, breathes, and begins again.

That hard stop is the gift I am grateful for.

Thank you Hashem for Shabbos 😊
